Many people have ongoing bloating, irregularity or discomfort after standard tests have found nothing serious. That is reassuring, but it doesn’t tell you what to do next.
A gut profile adds more information. It isn’t a substitute for a medical workup, and it can’t diagnose everything. If your symptoms suggest something that needs a specialist or a procedure, such as a colonoscopy, Dr. Gurrala will say so.

Questions
What patients ask Dr. Gurrala.
What does gut microbiome testing tell you?
It gives a picture of the organisms and markers of gut health in your digestive tract. It is most useful when interpreted alongside your symptoms and history. At Delos Longevity in Sterling, Virginia, Dr. Gurrala reviews your US BioTek GI Advanced Profile results with you.
Do I have to come in for the test?
You complete the kit at home. Dr. Gurrala sees you in person to decide on the test and to go through your results.
Does this replace a colonoscopy?
No. It doesn’t screen for colon cancer, and it won’t replace any screening your doctor recommends.
